Edie Sedgwick

I watched the film ‘Factory Girl’ this afternoon, which relives the life and death of Edie Sedgwick, an icon, socialite and troubled young woman. She made a name for her self when she became Pop artist Andy Warhol’s muse. But her fame was short lived as she died at the tender age of 28 when her drug addiction got the better of her.

After watching the movie which stars Sienna Miller as Sedgwick, I felt intrigued and so compelled to find out more about the famous Edie and Andy Warhol. The pair were so avant garde  and when I look at the videos that Andy made featuring Edie, she really does seem naive and insecure… almost like a lost soul or maybe out of place… perhaps too ahead of her time. She had so much potential, it just wasn’t harnessed. Or maybe it was….

Either way, there is something about her that is captivating.
